Some important information about your new kite-launching assistant! Please read carefully.
2005-04-19

  1. You need to practice. Practice as many times as possible until you are ready to use this device. Do this by laying out your lines as if you are ready to attach your power kite.

  2. Practice pushing the trim strap and line attachments at the bar into the hollow of the shaft without loosing reference between your bar and line ends.

  3. Secure your bar and then practice rolling the lines around the spool in such a way as to keep them firm with all the knots and catching points towards the back end of the spool.(shaft end)

  4. When you come near the end of the lines (during this rolling process) you will see that the lines want to curl over each other. As you get better at rolling the lines you can reduce this from occurring by holding the lines with your rolling hand further away from you during the rolling process. Also the figure of 8’s help to prevent line roll over and curls.

  5. It is important that before you snap the lines into the rubber nose that you look at the line ends and ensure they have not rolled over each other, losing reference to the kite attachment points.

  6. It takes practice to snap the lines into the rubber nose and at the same time ensure the lines don’t unroll from the spool. It also takes practice to prevent the lines crossing over each other towards the line ends.

  7. When you deploy, keep your hand cupped around the spool in order to control how fast the lines come of the Turbolauncher. (Please visit the website for updates. Kitelauncher.com)
